How the game works

The board is seven by seven. A win is a cluster of at least five identical symbols connected horizontally or vertically; diagonals do not count. There are seven paying symbols — four candy shapes and three gummy sweets — plus a scatter. There is no wild.
After a win, the cluster is removed and the symbols above drop into the gaps. This tumble repeats until no new cluster forms, so one paid spin can produce several wins in a row.
Multiplier spots
This is the core of the game. When a symbol in a winning cluster is removed, its cell is marked. If another winning symbol is removed from the same cell during the same spin, the cell gets a 2x multiplier, and every further win there doubles it: 4x, 8x, 16x, up to 128x. A cluster that sits on several multiplier cells adds those multipliers together before applying them to the win.
In the base game all marks are wiped when the tumbles end. That is why base-game wins are usually small: you rarely get enough consecutive tumbles on the same cells.
Free spins
Three or more scatters start the bonus round. Marks and multipliers now stay on the grid until the round ends, so each spin builds on the last one. Landing three or more scatters during the round adds more spins on the same scale.
| Scatters | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free spins | 10 | 12 | 15 | 20 | 30 |
Bonus buy
Where it is enabled, you can pay 100x your bet to start free spins directly. The return for the purchase is the same 96.50% in the demo build. A bought round is not a better round — it only removes the wait, at a high price. Details and the per-version costs are on the bonus page.
Paytable

Values are multiples of your total bet. The top symbol pays 150x for a cluster of 15 or more; five of the lowest symbol returns 0.2x, so many “wins” are smaller than the stake.

RTP and volatility
The demo build reports 96.50% for both the base game and the bonus buy, which matches the provider's page. Lower builds exist for operators, so the number at your casino is the one that matters; the RTP page explains how to read it. Volatility is high: most of the return is concentrated in a small share of bonus rounds.
What we verified ourselves
On 13 Oct 2026 we read the configuration of the official demo build (CAD). It states: RTP 96.50%, maximum win 5,000x, maximum-win frequency 1 in 2,340,000 spins, minimum bet €0.20, bonus buy 2,000 coins on a 20-coin bet (100x). The paytable above comes from the same source, not from third-party sites. Some review sites quote a 6,250x cap for this game; the game itself says 5,000x.
What players complain about, and what is true
- “The base game pays nothing.” Largely true by design. Marks reset every spin, so the base game mostly returns fractions of the bet.
- “Free spins took forever.” Possible. The feature is infrequent, and nothing makes it “due”.
- “My bonus paid 10x.” Common. If multipliers do not stack on the same cells early, a round ends small. The 100x purchase price is not a floor.
- “Wins smaller than my bet are shown as wins.” Yes — five to seven low symbols pay under 1x.
- “It stops at 5,000x.” Correct. The round ends when the cap is reached.
- “The casino version feels tighter.” It may be a lower RTP build. Check the info panel rather than guessing.
- “There is a pattern to the multipliers.” No. Every tumble is random and past spins do not affect future ones.
- “No bonus buy at my casino.” Operators and regulators can disable it.

- 5,000x cap is low next to the newer versions
- Lower RTP builds exist

Verdict
Sugar Rush does one thing well. The persistent-multiplier bonus is easy to understand and can escalate quickly, and the standard return is fair for the category. The price is a thin base game and a result distribution that punishes short sessions. If the 5,000x ceiling matters to you, look at Sugar Rush 1000; if you want the original feel, play this one, at a stake that lets you sit through the dry spells — or not at all.
Sugar Rush: legal status and where to play
Our demo test: 500 spins per version
To put numbers next to the description, on 13 Oct 2026 we played 500 paid spins of each main version in the official demo, at €2.00 a spin, and logged every response from the game. The totals below reconcile to the cent with the play-money balance at the end of each session.
| Measure | Sugar Rush | Sugar Rush 1000 | Sugar Rush Super Scatter |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paid spins | 500 | 500 | 500 |
| Bet per spin | €2.00 | €2.00 | €2.00 |
| Total wagered | €1,000.00 | €1,000.00 | €1,000.00 |
| Total returned | €920.70 | €2,000.70 | €648.90 |
| Return in this session | 92.1% | 200.1% | 64.9% |
| Spins with any win | 33.8% | 35.8% | 31.4% |
| Wins smaller than the bet | 52.1% | 48.0% | 58.6% |
| Average tumbles per winning spin | 1.82 | 1.85 | 1.78 |
| Longest tumble chain | 7 | 6 | 6 |
| Best single result | 106.8x | 546.3x | 84.8x |
| Longest run of dead spins | 21 | 11 | 12 |
| Free-spins rounds triggered | 1 | 2 | 0 |
| What those rounds paid | 106.8x | 20.9x, 546.3x | — |
How to read this. The three sessions returned 92%, 200% and 65% of what was wagered. None of them is “the” result for its game: they are three draws from very wide distributions, and that spread is the point. Sugar Rush 1000 came out ahead only because one free-spins round, extended by retriggers to 32 spins, paid 546.3x. Super Scatter produced no bonus round at all in 500 spins and lost about a third of the stake.
What stayed stable across all three sessions is more informative: 31–36% of spins paid something, about half of those wins were below the bet, and winning spins averaged fewer than two tumbles. That is the base game you will sit through between features.
How a multiplier spot grows
The first win on a cell only marks it. Every later win through the same cell doubles the value.
| Win number on the cell | Cell shows |
|---|---|
| 1 | Marked, no multiplier yet |
| 2 | x2 |
| 3 | x4 |
| 4 | x8 |
| 5 | x16 |
| 6 | x32 |
| 7 | x64 |
| 8 | x128 |
| 9 | x256 |
| 10 | x512 |
| 11 | x1,024 |
The original stops at x128 (the eighth win on a cell). Sugar Rush 1000 and Super Scatter continue to x1,024, which needs eleven wins on one cell — realistic only in free spins, where marks are never cleared.
A worked example
You bet €1.00. A cluster of eight top symbols forms; the paytable gives 2x. Two of the cells under that cluster already show x4 and x2. The game adds the multipliers (4 + 2 = 6) and applies the total: 2x × 6 = 12x, so the cluster pays €12.00 instead of €2.00. If the same cluster sat on cells showing x64 and x32, it would pay 2x × 96 = 192x. The symbols are the same; the board underneath them decides the result.
When a win is really a win
Small clusters return less than the stake. The table shows how many symbols each one needs before a cluster, with no multiplier, gives your bet back.
| Symbol | 5 symbols pay | Symbols needed for 1x or more | 15+ pay |
|---|---|---|---|
| Symbol 1 | 1x | 5 | 150x |
| Symbol 2 | 0.75x | 6 | 100x |
| Symbol 3 | 0.5x | 7 | 60x |
| Symbol 4 | 0.4x | 8 | 40x |
| Symbol 5 | 0.3x | 9 | 30x |
| Symbol 6 | 0.25x | 10 | 25x |
| Symbol 7 | 0.2x | 10 | 20x |
In our 500-spin session 52% of winning spins returned less than the bet. Keep that in mind when the game plays a win animation.
Who the game suits
A good fit if you
- enjoy watching a board build up over a bonus round
- play with a fixed entertainment budget and accept losing it
- prefer simple rules to a long list of features
- are comfortable with sessions that end with nothing notable
A poor fit if you
- want steady, frequent wins that keep the balance level
- have a small balance and want long play time
- are trying to clear a bonus wagering requirement
- find it hard to stop after a near miss
Three realistic sessions
- The quiet one (most common). A few hundred spins, no bonus round, balance down by a quarter to a third. Our Super Scatter session was exactly this.
- The average one. One bonus round of ordinary size brings the session close to break-even. Our Sugar Rush session: one round worth 106.8x, final return 92%.
- The outlier. A long, retriggered round with multipliers stacked early. Our Sugar Rush 1000 session doubled the stake on the back of a single 546.3x round. Sessions like this are what the game is remembered for and they are the rare ones.

Questions players ask
What is the RTP of Sugar Rush?
The standard build returns 96.50%, as shown in the game's configuration and on the provider's page. Operators may use lower builds, reported as 95.50% and 94.50%, so check the info panel at your casino.
What is the max win in Sugar Rush?
5,000x the total bet. The game configuration lists the chance of reaching it as about 1 in 2,340,000 spins.
Is Sugar Rush high volatility?
Yes. Most spins return little and a small number of free-spin rounds carry most of the payout.
How do you trigger free spins?
Land three or more scatters on one spin. Three give 10 spins, four give 12, five give 15, six give 20 and seven give 30.
Is Sugar Rush worth playing?
It is a well-built slot if you enjoy high-variance games and can afford the swings. It does not offer an edge: over time the house keeps about 3.5% of stakes in the standard build.
How often do free spins trigger in Sugar Rush?
The provider does not publish the trigger frequency. In our 500-spin demo session the feature triggered once; in the same test Sugar Rush 1000 triggered twice and Super Scatter not at all. Treat the feature as infrequent.
What is the biggest multiplier a cell can show?
x128 in Sugar Rush and Sugar Rush Xmas, reached on the eighth win on the same cell. Sugar Rush 1000 and Super Scatter go up to x1,024.
Do multipliers under one cluster multiply each other?
No. They are added together, and the sum multiplies the cluster's payout.
