Registration step by step
- Choose a legal operator. Use the regulator's own list (see below).
- Fill in the form on the operator's site: legal name, date of birth, home address, email and phone. The details must match your ID exactly.
- Verify your identity. Many operators check you electronically in the background; others ask for documents.
- Set limits. Regulated sites let you set deposit, loss and time limits during sign-up. Do it now rather than later.
- Deposit and play, or stay in demo mode until you are ready.
Who is allowed to operate in Nigeria
On 22 November 2024 the Supreme Court ruled that lotteries, betting and gaming are matters for the states. Operators therefore need a licence from each state where they take players, and state regulators have begun naming sites that do not have one.
- Check the state licence. In Lagos the regulator is the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LSLGA). More than twenty states coordinate through the Federation of State Gaming Regulators of Nigeria.
- Rules differ by state. Several northern states prohibit or heavily restrict gambling.
- Age 18+ for online play; some sources give 20 for land-based casinos.
- Offshore brands are not automatically legal. Lagos and 24 other states have jointly declared one large international casino brand unlicensed.
Documents you may be asked for
- Government photo ID: driver's licence, passport or national identity card.
- Proof of address dated within the last three months: utility bill or bank statement.
- Proof of payment method: a photo of the card with middle digits covered, or a screenshot of the bank or e-wallet account.
Send documents only through the operator's own upload page inside your account, never by a link from an email or a third-party site.
Frequent errors
- Name mismatch. Nicknames and missing middle names cause failed checks.
- Wrong jurisdiction. You can only register on a site regulated where you are physically located.
- Second account. One account per person; duplicates are closed and winnings can be withheld.
- VPN switched on. Location checks fail and the account can be flagged.
- Someone else's card. Payment methods must be in your own name.
A note on welcome offers. We do not publish casino bonus amounts. Bonus terms are set by each licensed operator and must be published on its site. What a bonus means for this slot is explained on the Sugar Rush bonus page.

Deposits and withdrawals: what to expect
Each operator sets its own methods, limits and timings, so read its banking page. The general pattern in Nigeria is this:
- Bank transfer and USSD are the most common ways to fund an account.
- Debit cards and payment apps such as OPay or PalmPay are offered by many operators.
- Withdrawals are paid to a Nigerian bank account in your own name after verification.
- The first withdrawal is the slow one, because identity checks are completed before it is released.
We have not measured withdrawal times at specific casinos, so we do not quote any.
Set your limits during sign-up
- Deposit limit — the most you can pay in per day, week or month.
- Loss limit — the most you can lose in a period.
- Session reminder — a pop-up after a set time showing how long you have played and your net result.
- Time-out — a break of days or weeks you can start at any moment.
Why casinos ask for so much information
Identity checks are a legal obligation, not an operator's whim. Licensed gambling businesses must confirm who their customers are under anti-money-laundering rules and must keep minors and self-excluded people out. A site that lets you deposit and play with no checks at all is a warning sign, not a convenience.

18 or older.
How long does verification take?
Electronic checks can pass within minutes. If documents are requested, operators typically review them within one to three business days.
